7,000 children discover squash at 2021 Community Roadshows

Over 7,000 children played squash for the first time at a Community Engagement Roadshow, according to the latest figures from Squash United By Birmingham 2022.

At the final roadshow of the year, held at the University of Birmingham, English No.1 and Birmingham native Sarah-Jane Perry took on Birmingham 2022 mascot Perry the Bull, while a number of taster sessions were run for children on the mini courts and full courts.

Perry the Bull takes on top English talent and Birmingham local Sarah-Jane Perry.

The final Community Engagement day of the year brought to a close a successful 2021 for Squash United, with roadshows bringing the game to new communities all around Birmingham.

Many more are planned for 2022 and beyond, with Squash United setting a target of introducing over 50,000 children to the game by summer 2023.
